Our purpose
To promote and oversee a nationally consistent,
comprehensive and sustainable framework for the protection
of children and adults at risk within the Church in Australia.
We are the Church’s leading response to the findings of the
Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse.
Our approach
We work with Church Authorities and Catholic entities, to help them meet
their safeguarding responsibilities to children and adults at risk.
We are strengths-focused, trauma-informed and supportive of Catholic
entities who choose to partner with us on their safeguarding journey.
How we work
We provide a range of services to Catholic organisations, that build their
capacity to prevent and respond to real or potential incidents of abuse.
Our services help to prevent and respond to wide-ranging
safeguarding risks.
Our services:
y Professional learning
y National Catholic Safeguarding Standards
y Complaints response and reviews
y Databases and systems
y Safeguarding audits and reviews
y Tailored safeguarding advice
